The Collie Artisanal Charcoal is a Spanish ceramic subway tile in a deep graphite colour, finished with a glossy zellige look surface. At 65 x 200 mm it suits kitchen splashbacks, bathroom walls and feature walls where you want a dark, slightly handmade look with some light reflection.
The zellige look
Zellige-style tiles carry subtle surface movement, so the gloss finish catches light a little unevenly across the wall. The charcoal tone reads soft and warm rather than flat black, and it works well against timber, brass or pale grout.
Sizing and laying
Each tile measures 65 x 200 mm and is 10 mm thick. The narrow brick shape lays well in a standard offset brick bond or a vertical stack, depending on the look you want.
Grout note
A contrasting grout will define each tile and highlight the brick pattern, while a close charcoal grout keeps the wall reading as one darker block.
