Slender SL-03 Dark Red Japanese Textured Mosaic Tile

The Slender SL-03 is a Japanese porcelain finger mosaic in a deep dark red, with each slim tile measuring 96 x 21 mm. The matte, textured surface gives walls a handcrafted look, and it suits kitchen splashbacks, bathroom feature walls and entry areas.

Where it works

Rated for indoor walls, indoor floors and outdoor walls, so you can run the same tile from a bathroom wall through to a covered courtyard. At 7 mm thick it stays neat around edges and against joinery.

Format and laying

The tiles come mounted on 300 x 300 mm sheets, which keeps the narrow pieces evenly spaced and speeds up setting out. Lay the sheets edge to edge so the joins between them match the gaps within each sheet.

Grout and finish

A grout close to the dark red tone keeps the surface reading as one field, while a lighter grout picks out the individual fingers. Wipe back carefully, as the matte texture holds a little more grout than a gloss tile.
