Boas Charcoal Japanese Brick Tile

The Boas Charcoal is a slim 240 x 40 mm porcelain brick tile from Japan, in a deep charcoal with a matte finish. At 12 mm thick it holds up on floors as well as walls, so you can run one tile through a whole bathroom or courtyard.

Where it works

This one is rated for both walls and floors, indoors and out. That covers indoor and bathroom walls, outdoor walls, and outdoor and indoor floors, so it suits a bathroom, a feature wall, an alfresco area or a path.

Slip rating

The Boas Charcoal carries a P4 slip rating, which is why it can be used on outdoor floors and in wet bathroom areas where a bit more grip matters.

A note on laying

The long, narrow brick shape looks good in a running bond or stacked layout. Charcoal tiles show grout lines clearly, so choose a grout colour to either match or contrast on purpose.
