Green Square Tiles: An Australian Buying Guide

10 September 2026 · Tile Touch

Green square tiles cover a wide field, from tiny 48mm mosaics to 300mm squares, and the right one depends on where it goes and how much wall or floor you want to fill. This guide walks through the sizes, shades and finishes we stock at Tile Touch, so you can match a green tile to a splashback, bathroom or feature wall without guesswork.

The quick answer

For a small, textured green mosaic wall, look at the 48mm Clevy squares or the 72mm Hatsu squares. For a mid-size handmade look on a splashback, the 100mm to 152mm gloss squares (Rabat, Ligato, Rela) do the job. For floors and larger areas where slip resistance matters, the 200mm Bore squares in matte are rated for it. Samples are available for all of these, and we ship Australia-wide from our Waterloo showroom in Sydney.

Green square tiles by size

Small mosaics (48mm to 72mm)

Small squares give you a lot of grout lines and a busy, tactile finish. The Clevy Square Glazed Mosaic comes in 48x48mm gloss porcelain, with a Mint Green and a Eucalyptus Green to choose between. Mint reads fresh and light; Eucalyptus is a softer, greyer green. Both suit splashbacks and shower walls where you want texture without a large tile.

Stepping up slightly, the Hatsu Square range is 72x72mm gloss porcelain and comes from Japan. Hatsu Square Aqua leans towards a blue-green, and Hatsu Square Oribe Green is a deeper, more classic green. Both carry a P2 slip rating, which suits wall use and light-traffic areas.

Mid-size squares (100mm to 152mm)

This is the sweet spot for splashbacks and feature walls that want a handmade character without turning into mosaic. The Rabat Green Gloss and Rabat Turquoise Gloss are 100x100mm ceramic squares from Italy, both in a gloss finish, so you can pick a true green or a brighter blue-green. Ligato Emerald Green Gloss is a 100x100mm porcelain square in a rich green. For a slightly larger square, Rela Jade Gloss is 152x152mm ceramic in a gloss jade tone.

Larger squares (132mm to 300mm)

Rimtou Green Matt is a 132x132mm ceramic square from Spain in a matte finish, which reads calmer and less reflective than the gloss options. At 200x200mm, the Bore range in porcelain gives you a bigger, cleaner square: Bore Glacier is a cool, pale green-grey and Bore Kaki a warmer earthy green. Both are matte, made in Spain, and rated P3 for slip. If you want something with a different texture altogether, the Upholstered Textile Tile in Boho Green is a 300x300mm square with a fabric-look surface for decorative wall use.

Choosing a shade of green

Green covers a lot of ground, so it helps to narrow the tone before size. If you want light and airy, Clevy Mint Green and Bore Glacier sit at the pale end. For soft, muted greens, Clevy Eucalyptus Green and Rimtou Green Matt work well against timber and warm neutrals. Deeper, saturated greens come from Ligato Emerald Green and Hatsu Square Oribe Green. And if you are open to a blue-green, Hatsu Square Aqua and Rabat Turquoise Gloss lean that way.

Gloss or matte?

Gloss tiles bounce light around, which makes small rooms feel brighter and colours read stronger. Most of the small and mid-size greens here are gloss: the Clevy mosaics, the Hatsu squares, Rabat, Ligato and Rela. Gloss shows water marks a little more on flat surfaces, so it is most at home on walls and splashbacks.

Matte tiles are flatter and softer underfoot and underhand. Bore Glacier, Bore Kaki and Rimtou Green Matt are the matte options here. The matte Bore squares are also the ones carrying a P3 slip rating, which is why they suit floors better than a gloss wall tile would.

Where each type suits

Kitchen splashbacks

A splashback is a wall, so you have the full range to play with. The 48mm Clevy mosaics and 72mm Hatsu squares give texture behind a cooktop. If you want a cleaner grid, the 100mm Rabat and Ligato squares or the 152mm Rela Jade sit flat and wipe down easily.

Bathrooms and showers

For shower walls, gloss greens like Ligato Emerald or the Hatsu squares work well and keep the room bright. On a bathroom floor, choose a tile rated for slip. The Bore squares at P3 are the floor-friendly choice in this list; the Hatsu squares at P2 are better kept to walls.

Feature and decorative walls

For a wall that is more about texture than water resistance, the Upholstered Textile Tile in Boho Green brings a soft fabric-look surface at 300x300mm. It is a decorative square rather than a wet-area tile, so plan it for a dry feature wall.

Ceramic or porcelain

Both are fired clay tiles. Porcelain is denser and generally used where you want a harder-wearing surface; the Clevy mosaics, Hatsu squares, Ligato and the Bore squares are porcelain. The Rabat squares, Rela Jade and Rimtou Green Matt are ceramic, which is well suited to wall use. For a splashback or feature wall, either works; for floors, favour the porcelain Bore squares with their P3 rating.

Ordering and samples

Colour on a screen is never the whole story, especially with green, which shifts under different lighting. We recommend ordering a sample and looking at it in the actual room, at different times of day, before committing. Tile Touch ships Australia-wide, and you can see the ranges in person at our Waterloo showroom in Sydney.

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest green square tile you have?

The Clevy Square Glazed Mosaic is 48x48mm, our smallest green square, available in Mint Green and Eucalyptus Green. It is a gloss porcelain mosaic that suits splashbacks and shower walls where you want plenty of texture.

Which green square tiles can go on a floor?

The Bore squares, Bore Glacier and Bore Kaki, are 200x200mm matte porcelain with a P3 slip rating, which makes them the floor-suitable option here. The gloss and P2-rated tiles in this guide are better kept to walls and splashbacks.

Do you have a blue-green rather than a true green?

Yes. Hatsu Square Aqua is a 72x72mm porcelain square that leans blue-green, and Rabat Turquoise Gloss is a 100x100mm ceramic square in a brighter turquoise. Both are gloss and suit wall use.

Gloss or matte green tile, which is easier to keep clean?

Gloss surfaces wipe down easily and stay bright, which is why they are popular for splashbacks. Matte tiles like Bore and Rimtou Green Matt hide water marks better and feel softer, which suits floors and larger areas.

Can I get a sample before I buy?

Yes. Samples are available for the green squares in this guide, and we ship them Australia-wide. You can also view the ranges at the Tile Touch showroom in Waterloo, Sydney.
