Finger Tiles

Finger tiles, also called kit kat tiles, are slim elongated mosaics set on a mesh backing sheet, so they go up in rows without spacing each piece by hand. The narrow shape reads as clean vertical or horizontal lines, which is why they're a favourite for bathroom feature walls, splashbacks, shower niches and powder rooms.

Sizes and finishes

The range runs from a fine 12 x 92mm through 20 x 145mm and 22 x 145mm, with a few larger formats for a bolder line. Most are gloss, which bounces light and keeps a small room feeling bright. The matt options give a softer, contemporary look and hide water spotting well. Ceramic pieces suit walls throughout the range; the porcelain and Japanese tiles also stand up to wet areas and heavier wear.

Colours

White and bone white are the everyday choice for a bright, timeless wall. For more character there's black, several greens (including mint and jade), blues, greys, and warmer pinks and reds. If you want the tile to be the feature, a contrasting grout makes the finger shape stand out; matching the grout to the tile keeps it calm and seamless.

Japanese hand-glazed

A small part of the range is hand-glazed in Japan. No two tiles are quite alike, as the glaze pools and shifts across each piece, so the finished wall has a depth and movement a printed tile can't copy. They cost more, but for a hero wall they're worth a sample first.

Buying and coverage

Finger tiles are sold by the sheet, and every product page lists the coverage per box in square metres. Measure your wall area, add around 10% for cuts and waste, then round up to full boxes.
