Italian Porcelain Tiles: Inside the Elementa Range

31 August 2026 · Tile Touch

The Elementa range is a set of Italian porcelain floor and wall tiles sold at Tile Touch. There are three colours in the range, all 604 x 604 mm with a matte finish, and all made in Italy. This guide walks through what the range is, the differences between the colours, and how to decide which one suits your project.

What is the Elementa range?

Elementa is a collection of porcelain tiles in a square 604 x 604 mm format. Every tile in the range shares the same size and the same matte surface, so the three colours can be treated as a single family. Because they are porcelain, they work on floors and walls, indoors, and the large square size suits open living areas, kitchens and bathrooms where you want fewer grout lines across the floor.

The three colours are Elementa Avorio, Elementa Cenere and Elementa Verde Terra. Each is a different tone, which is the main decision you need to make when choosing between them.

The three colours

Elementa Avorio

Avorio is the lightest of the three. A pale, soft tone like this keeps a room feeling open and reflects daylight, which helps in smaller rooms or spaces that do not get much natural light. It gives you a neutral base to build a scheme around, so joinery, tapware and furniture can carry the colour instead.

Elementa Cenere

Cenere sits in the middle as a mid grey. Grey floors hide day-to-day marks better than very pale ones and pair easily with both warm timber and cooler whites. If you want something quieter than white but still neutral, Cenere is the middle-ground choice in the range.

Elementa Verde Terra

Verde Terra brings colour into the range. It reads as an earthy green tone, so it suits people who want the floor or wall to add character rather than stay in the background. It works well as a feature in a bathroom or laundry, or across a kitchen floor when the cabinetry is kept simple.

Where the Elementa range suits

The 604 x 604 mm square is a general-purpose size. It is large enough to feel calm underfoot in living rooms and open-plan kitchens, and it also lays well in bathrooms and laundries. Because all three colours are porcelain, they can run continuously from an indoor living area through to a kitchen without changing product.

The matte finish is worth thinking about. Matte porcelain has less shine than a polished or gloss tile, so reflections and glare are reduced and the surface hides smudges and water spots more forgivingly than a high-shine tile. That makes it a practical pick for busy floors and family bathrooms.

One tip with a square tile this size: the larger the format, the flatter the substrate needs to be, so it is worth talking to your tiler about floor preparation before you order.

How to choose between the three

Start with how light or dark you want the room to feel. Avorio is the light option, Cenere the mid grey, and Verde Terra the coloured one. If you are unsure, think about what else is going into the space. A pale tile like Avorio lets timber and colour elsewhere do the talking. Cenere is the safe neutral that goes with most palettes. Verde Terra is the choice when you want the tile itself to be part of the look.

Also think about maintenance and traffic. Mid and coloured tones such as Cenere and Verde Terra tend to disguise everyday dust and marks between cleans better than the lightest colour, which can matter in a high-traffic hallway or a household with kids and pets.

Why porcelain

Porcelain is a dense, hard-fired tile, which is why it is used so widely for floors. It is the same material right through, so the colour and finish are consistent across the whole range. The three Elementa colours share that porcelain body, so your decision really comes down to colour and where you are laying it, rather than one colour being more hard-wearing than another.

Ordering, samples and where to see them

Colour on a screen is never a perfect match for a tile in your own light, so we recommend ordering a sample before you commit, especially for the pale Avorio and the coloured Verde Terra where lighting changes the look the most. Tile Touch offers samples and ships Australia-wide. If you are in Sydney, you can see the range in person at our Waterloo showroom, which is the easiest way to compare the three colours side by side and check them against your own flooring or cabinetry samples.

When you are ready to order, work out your area in square metres and add an allowance for cuts and waste, then have your tiler confirm the quantity. If you are covering a large open area, ordering the full amount in one go helps keep the tiles consistent.

FAQ

How many colours are in the Elementa range?

There are three: Elementa Avorio, Elementa Cenere and Elementa Verde Terra. Avorio is the lightest, Cenere is a mid grey, and Verde Terra is an earthy green. All three share the same size and finish, so they read as one family.

What size are Elementa tiles?

Every colour in the Elementa range is 604 x 604 mm, a large square format. This size suits open living areas, kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, and it can be run continuously across connected indoor spaces.

Can Elementa tiles be used on both floors and walls?

Yes. They are porcelain, which is commonly used on floors and can also be used on walls. Talk to your tiler about substrate preparation, as large-format tiles need a flat, well-prepared surface.

Are the Elementa tiles matte or gloss?

All three colours have a matte finish. Matte porcelain reduces glare and tends to hide water spots and smudges better than a high-shine surface, which makes it practical for family floors and bathrooms.

Can I get a sample before I order?

Yes. Tile Touch offers samples and ships Australia-wide, so you can check the colour in your own lighting first. You can also view the range at the Waterloo showroom in Sydney to compare the three colours in person.
